Altadena

Altadena is an unincorporated community situated at the base of the Sierra Madre foothills. The city is approximately 14 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and directly north of the city of Pasadena, California. The name Altadena came from “Alta” meaning upper and “Dena” referring to Pasadena and was coined by Byron O. Clark, who founded the Altadena Nursery. Altadena is known for having a country feel, more rural than the neighboring communities. The area is known for exceptional, historic homes which draw people to the area. Celebrated Southern California Architect Wallace Neff, began his career in Altadena where several of his homes are sited. As a gorgeous suburb of Los Angeles with historical roots and a lovely sense of community, Altadena is a wonderful place to call home.
